18 Sep – Diana Danielle is confirming reports that she and Farid Kamil are reconciling, saying that the biggest reason for this is for the sake of their two children. Speaking to the media at the Mega Suria Carnival in Petaling Jaya, the actress, who wore matching blue with Farid, stated that she realised the importance of a father figure after growing up without one herself. "It's the biggest gift a parent can give for their children, to enjoy the love of a father. If they are happy, that's enough for us," she said. "If it was just us two, we might not be that motivated to reconcile."
Diana also admitted that the past five months where they went through their divorce process was a lesson in strengthening what they once had. "When we ended the marriage, we had time to reflect on ourselves and calm down. The process enabled us to think rationally. We never stopped to pray to be shown the right way," she added. While Diana has not given any detailed information regarding their reconciliation, Farid Kamil is happy to reveal that they have actually rekindled their marriage on Merdeka Day. Speaking to the media about the ruju', which is the Muslim way of returning to the original state of marriage without the requirement of a new solemnisation of marriage, Farid said that it was done three weeks after the divorce was finalised. "With God's permission, our marriage was saved. The past experience has made us more mature. As a husband, I have to guide my wife and my wife has to strengthen her knowledge about religion in order to guide our children," he said.
Diana and Farid tied the knot in November 2012 and finalised their divorce back on 10 August, five months after Diana filed for divorce in March. The news came as a surprise to many fans, as the two didn't seem to show any marital issue prior to the decision. The two are parents to son Muhammad, 11, and daughter Nur Aurora, 8.
