12 May - "Fast & Furious" is not stopping at 11 movies but 12? That seemed to be the case, according to stars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, who were asked about the movie while attending the red carpet in Rome. Diesel, who reprises his role as Dominic Toretto for the umpteenth time in "Fast X", which is soon to be released in theatres, stated, "It's a really good question. As filmmakers, you want to allow people to enjoy the film without tipping the hat too much. I can say this. Going into making this movie, the studio had asked if this could be a two-parter. And after the studio saw this, part one, they said, could you make Fast X, the finale, a trilogy?" "It's three acts in any story," Rodriguez chimed in.
When asked if what Diesel said can be considered official confirmation, the actor stated, "We probably are," before leaving before more questions could be asked. It is noted that "Fast X" was previously announced as the penultimate movie of the "Fast & Furious" saga, with the last one to be released in 2025. The movie sees the return of most of the original actors, with the inclusion of Jason Momoa and Brie Larson.
