17 Jan – With a strong opening and great reviews, it looks like there is a big possibility that "M3GAN" will have movie number two. According to producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse fame, he went against his "cardinal rules" regarding the movie - that is contemplating a sequel before it even hit the big screens. "After I first saw the movie, we had a good sense that a sequel might really work. So, we broke our cardinal rule and we started talking about a sequel before the movie was released," he said. "I felt so bullish that we started entertaining a sequel earlier than we usually do."
It is noted that both director Gerard Johnstone and lead actress Allison Williams expressed interest in filming another "M3GAN" movie, with Williams saying "So much of what we do is in service of the people who watch it. So, I think the idea of people wanting more and being able to deliver is so wonderful." It is noted that the movie broke USD 30 million in its opening weekend, and has made USD 61.2 million in just 11 days, already profiting the production studios Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, as the two companies only made the movie under a USD 12 million budget. The movie, which also co-stars Violet McGraw and Amie Donald, revolves around a life-like AI doll that begins to take on a life of its own.
