1 Jun – Teen star Mason Thames has been cast to play Hiccup in the upcoming live-action adaptation of DreamWorks' "How to Train Your Dragon".

The actor, most known for the horror hit, "The Black Phone", will be working alongside actress Nico Parker ("The Last of Us"), the latter who will play fellow dragon rider and Hiccup's love interest Astrid in the upcoming movie.

The original animated feature, based on the books by Cressida Cowell, focuses on the relationship between the unheroic and awkward Viking teen Hiccup and the legendary Night Fury dragon which he named Toothless.

In the animated feature, Hiccup was voiced by Jay Baruchel, while Astrid was voiced by America Ferrera.

The upcoming movie is set for a 14 March 2025 release, with filming to begin this summer.
