28 Aug - Malaysians prove that there is a demand for patriotic movies as Adrian Teh's latest entry, "Malbatt: Misi Bakara" continues to make bank. On 28 August, actor Hairul Azreen revealed that the movie has made RM10.5 million in just four days of screening. "Praise be to God. 4 days of screening, RM10 million! #MalbattMisiBakara. Thank you all," he posted.
In a previous interview, fellow actor Bront Palarae stated that he is elated over the reception from audiences, saying that he is most grateful for all the word of mouth and positive reviews on social media. "This film is about our military members at the international level. We are also proud of their contribution outside the country," he added. The film is based on a true story revolving around the operation of members of the Malaysian Battalion (Malbatt) in rescuing the United States (US) soldiers who were trapped during the civil war in Somalia in 1993.
