6 Dec – Nicolas Cage recently revealed that he has plans to retire after doing only several more movies, now that he is nearing sixty. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actor stated that he may have "three or four more movies left" in him before he finally calls it quits.
"I do feel I've said what I've had to say with cinema. I think I took film performance as far as I could... I do want to get much more severe and stringent in my selection process... I want to say bye on a high note," he said. Cage stated that his father died at the age of 75, and by using that benchmark, he may have around 15 years left.
"What do I want to do with those 15 years, using my father as the model? It occurred very clearly to me that I want to spend time with my family... I'm starting to cement my plan," he said. At the same time, Cage also said that he also would like to try a different form of acting, such as TV series, as he has never tried it. It is noted that Cage has three new movies to be released in 2024 to 2025, including the horror film, "Arcadian".
