19 Apr - Following the success of the first movie, it was revealed that the sequel to 2013's "Soodhu Kavvum" is set to begin filming soon. The news was announced by producer CV Kumar on Twitter, as he shared the first teaser image of the sequel, writing, "It's happening. The gang is coming again with new rules! Gladly presenting you all, #Soodhukavvum2: Nadum Naatu Makkalum." However, unlike the original, which has Vijay Sethupathi playing the lead, this time, the studio has cast Mirchi Shiva as the star of the movie.
It is also reported that only Karunakaran, who played a politician's son in the original, will return for the sequel. It will also be directed by SJ Arjun, instead of Nalan Kumarasamy. The original film tells the story of four gangsters who attempt to kidnap the son of a politician for ransom, breaking the five rules of kidnapping, which is to avoid kidnapping people from political backgrounds.
