11 Apr – Syamsul Yusof and Puteri Sarah Liyana will proceed to end their marriage.

The news was confirmed by the director's legal representative, Azmi Mohd Rais, who said that the two parties have reached an agreement regarding their situation.

Meanwhile, Puteri Sarah's lawyer Akberdin Abdul Kadir stated that the two parties have resolved their problem and that they will confirm the agreement and pronouncement of divorce next week.


"A new date has been set for 18 April to find an agreement on the terms that have been discussed. The children are under the jurisdiction of the high court. After the divorce is pronounced, we will file a record with the High Court for the alimony issue and after that, it will be made into a court order," he added.

Meanwhile, Puteri Sarah expressed her relief that Syamsul has agreed to let her go.

"Praise be to God, in the month of Ramadan, everything was made ease. We will continue with our own lives. Finally, everything is done," she said.

Syamsul, however, declined to make any comments, stating only that it was for the sake of their children.

The couple had been happily married since they tied the knot back in 2014 and have two children together, before Puteri Sarah revealed last year that the "KL Gangster" director was having an affair with another woman, of whom he had since married.
