23 Mar – Syamsul Yusof is threatening legal action against Farid Kamil, who previously made an ambiguous statement that many speculated to be about the filmmaker. The "KL Gangster" star, who spoke to the media recently as he appeared at the Shariah Lower Court in East Gombak, stated that he won't be a coward by responding on social media and would rather resolve the issue in court. "What's this? We're adults, why play these kids' game?" he said. "I am not interested to argue. There is so much I can say if I want to." Syamsul said that the challenges that he has been facing has enabled him to pick his friends from his foes. "It's been a while since I used social media. My friends told me about Aaron Aziz and Farid Kamil. To put it simply, when we have to face difficulties, that is when we finally realise who has actually been jealous of us all this time," he added. It was earlier this year that Farid took to social media to post a cryptic message about a "KL G in songkok who hits women", claiming that one of the women he hit in the past was the one named Diana. Netizens immediately pointed fingers towards Syamsul, who was the star of "KL Gangster" as well as the former boyfriend of Farid's wife, Diana Danielle.
It was also earlier this week that netizens were shocked over news that Diana Danielle has filed for divorce from Farid Kamil. The two parties seemed to be back at work as usual despite the online flurry of activities that the news has caused. The actress, who cited irreconcilable differences and shiqaq (irretrievable breakdown of the marriage), posted a photo of her attending the Innershine live show with Lazada, though she locked her comments section, possibly to avoid having netizens commenting on the issue. The same went for Farid, who posted several Instagram Stories of him at work, and having dinner with friends.
