The original movie has Swayze playing Sam Wheat, a banker who continues to look out for his girlfriend Molly (Demi Moore) even after he was killed by a mugger. The movie was most famous for the pottery scene, which is still being parodied to this day.

The original movie grossed USD 550 million worldwide, and won two Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Whoopi Goldberg.
