19 Jan – Channing Tatum recently revealed that he has the rights to the Patrick Swayze classic romance film, "Ghost". The actor, who spoke to Vanity Fair recently, shared that his production company Free Association is now trying to go for a modern remake of the film, with him potentially playing the role made famous by Swayze. At the same time, Tatum acknowledged that there were several "problematic stereotypes" in the original that they will try to change.
"We're going to do something different. I think it needs to change a little bit," he said. The original movie has Swayze playing Sam Wheat, a banker who continues to look out for his girlfriend Molly (Demi Moore) even after he was killed by a mugger. The movie was most famous for the pottery scene, which is still being parodied to this day. The original movie grossed USD 550 million worldwide, and won two Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Whoopi Goldberg.
