During the Press Conference held earlier today at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, stressed the importance of cultural diplomacy that each Thai film represents. The culture, society, ways of life, as well as ways of thinking, which are communicated through content and pictures, will help to create better understanding and awareness of what calls today "Thainess". The festival would provide a great opportunity to strengthen ties and friendship among the people of two countries, through establishing of network, between the Government-to-Business (G2B) partners in the field of film and entertainment.
The Festival partners with Malaysia's Suraya Film Production & Distribution which also has offices in Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam. The Ambassador added, "Indirectly it helps us to distribute films from Thailand to our friends in the Asian region. In addition, all content and copyrights acquired by Suraya Film Production actually come from various film production companies in Thailand". It is noted that the Embassy has worked with the company since 2017.
