7 Jul – Thailand's Major Cineplex will be adding two ScreenX locations in Cambodia and Thailand, as part of the deal with Korea's CJ 4DPLEX.

The said system will be located at the AEON Mall Mean Chey in Phnom Penh (Cambodia), with almost 500 seats and 75-foot-wide central screen, making it the largest ScreenX auditorium in Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, the one in Thailand will be at Bangkok's ICONSiam Mall, which will be debuting on 27 July.

The said system, according to Variety, has an immersive 270-degree field of view that creates "a virtual reality-like setting with cinema quality resolution."

The first ScreenX launched by Major Cineplex was at its Siam Paragon location in central Bangkok last year, which prompted the decision to add two more.

"We've received amazing reactions and feedback from our moviegoers for ScreenX in Thailand and expect to generate the same response at our Cambodia location," said Vicha Poolvaraluk, who is the CEO of Major Cineplex.
