13 Jun – "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" has knocked down "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" at the box office in its opening number. The movie, which launched on 9 June, opened to USD 60.5 million in the US, winning viewers that are mostly young adults. Meanwhile, it made USD 110 million internationally, amassing a total of USD 170.5 million globally. The movie is a direct sequel to 2018's "Bumblebee" and considered a prequel to the Michael Bay live-action series starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. "Rise of the Beasts" stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, as well as the voice talents of Liza Koshy, Pete Davidson, Cristo Fernandez, and Peter Cullen - the latter reprising his role as Optimus Prime. Michelle Yeoh is the voice of Airazor, a member of the Maximals and a Peregrine Falcon.
The movie features the Maximals - the Transformers who take animal shapes - in their first big-screen appearance since their animated TV series days, "Beast Wars". Meanwhile, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" made an additional USD 112.4 million this week, earning the movie USD 389.9 million at the box office after ten days. On the other hand, "The Little Mermaid" has now accumulated USD 413 million in its third week.
