2 Oct – Warner Bros. has recently been sued by a film extra for an accident that occurred on the set of the cancelled movie, "Batgirl". The extra, Cristina Stanovici, revealed that she suffered several injuries after being hit by a speeding motorbike while filming was in progress in Glasgow. The said incident occurred when the extra, who was 5 ft. 1, was hit by the machine, which she described as a motorcycle with cameras on top of it.
"I started screaming to get the attention of the paramedics as I remembered seeing an ambulance on site in the previous days," she said. "I lay there for almost an hour while they checked on me." Stanovici stated that she was in intensive care for three days, and remain in pain for more than 17 months. She added that it would have been easier for her if she died rather than go through multiple injuries that included broken thigh, shin, pelvis and a head gash. It is noted that a report had already been filed with the Health and Safety Executive.
Directed by Bilal Fallah and Adil El Arbi, the "Batgirl" movie would have seen Leslie Grace as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon alongside Brendan Fraser in the role of villain Garfield Lynns/Firefly, JK Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, and Michael Keaton reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film was cancelled by CEO David Zaslav as soon as he came into office in January 2023.
