13 Feb – The Iran Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur is thrilled to announce the return of the 2024 Iranian Film Festival to Malaysia, taking place from 29 February to 10 March 2024.
This exciting cultural event will be showcasing 6 acclaimed Iranian films, offering Malaysian audiences a glimpse into the diverse and vibrant world of Iranian cinema.
The 2024 Iranian Film Festival builds upon the success of the 2018 edition, which garnered significant interest and positive feedback from the public. The 2018 festival saw over 2,800 attendees and an 87% occupancy rate. With this positive response, the 2024 edition promises an even more immersive and engaging experience for Malaysian film enthusiasts.

Organised by the Iran Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur and supported by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Malaysia, this year's festival aims to further strengthen cultural ties between Iran and Malaysia by promoting Iranian films, arts and culture.
"The 2024 Iranian Film Festival is a great opportunity for Malaysians to discover Iranian culture and art," said Dr Habibreza Arzani, the Iranian Cultural Counselor in Malaysia. "We are excited to showcase the best of Iranian cinema to audiences in Malaysia."

Highlights of the 2024 Iranian Film Festival:
Six captivating films: The festival features a diverse selection of films, including dramas, thrillers, and historical pieces, offering something for everyone.
FREE public screenings: All screenings are free of charge, with tickets available for public redemption online on a first-come, first-served basis starting 12 noon on 22 February. Tickets can also be redeemed at the ticketing kiosk at the participating GSC cinemas.
Convenient locations: The festival will be held at three GSC cinemas in GSC Mid Valley and GSC IOI City Mall Putrajaya from 29 February – 3 March (4 days) in Klang Valley, before moving north to GSC Gurney Plaza Penang from 7 – 10 March (4 days).
Special cast appearances: Renowned Iranian actors and directors, Behrouz Shoeibi (director of "No Prior Appointment" and actor in "Henas") and Ms. Narges Abyar (director of "Track 143"), will be attending the festival launches in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, respectively.
Opening ceremonies: The festival will kick off with a glamorous opening ceremony at GSC Mid Valley on 27 February, followed by an opening ceremony in Penang on 6 March for invited guests.
