28 Feb - The Iran Cultural Centre, in collaboration with esteemed partners, proudly launched its grand opening ceremony of the 2024 Iranian Film Festival yesterday evening at GSC Mid Valley.

Celebrating the rich tapestry of Iranian cinema, the festival will run from 29 February to 10 March 2024, across three GSC locations in Malaysia.

Dr. Habib Reza Arzani, cultural counsellor of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Malaysia: The 2024 Iranian Film Festival marks a significant occasion - a chance to explore the rich tapestry of Iranian cinema, its diverse stories, and its captivating talents.

The Festival will begin in GSC Mid Valley Megamall and GSC IOI City Mall, Putrajaya in Klang Valley first (29 February to 3 March), before moving north to GSC Gurney Plaza, Penang from 7 - 10 March.

The Festival is set to dazzle cinephiles in Malaysia, so mark your calendars for an unforgettable cinematic journey that transcends borders and celebrates the magic of storytelling.

A Cultural Extravaganza Begins
The festival kicked off on 27 February with a grand launch event for invited guests at GSC Mid Valley. The red carpet was rolled out for an evening filled with elegance, anticipation, and cultural richness.

Guests were treated to an enriching cultural experience that kicked off with a generous buffet spread of Iranian and Afghanistan food. They were then ushered into the GSC hall for a movie treat with the screening of the launch movie, "Henas".


"Henas" is based on the true story of a courageous woman who challenges her husband's involvement in Iran's nuclear program

All screenings are free of charge, with tickets available for public redemption online on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can also be redeemed at the ticketing kiosk at the participating GSC cinemas.
