24 Jun - Junaid Khan couldn't help but feel grateful over the positive reception he received for his first ever film, "Maharaj".

The actor, who is the son of actor-producer Aamir Khan, expressed that he was speechless over his own feelings, especially since the movie had to go through many setbacks prior to its release.

"Maharaj was made with a lot of love, respect, and passion, and I'm glad that the film and my performance are striking a chord with the audience at large," he said.

As for the future of his acting career, Junaid said, "I know I have miles to go and lots to improve upon. I just hope I get a cast and crew as supportive in all my future work."

It is noted that the Gujarat High Court finally lifted its temporary stay on the release of the film, after putting it on hold when a group of businessmen petitioned and argued that the film had the potential to offend the religious sensibilities of the Vaishnav community.

The court ruled that the film, based on events related to the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, was not intended to hurt the sentiments of any community.
