19 Aug - "Riverdale" alumna, Camila Mendes has been cast in the upcoming Mattel Films' live-action movie, "Masters of the Universe".

The actress will play the role of Teela, Captain of the Royal Guard at the palace of Eternos who is responsible for training and protecting Prince Adam of Eternia aka He Man.

She will be working alongside Nicholas Galitzine, who has been cast to play the titular role He-Man in the movie that will be helmed by Travis Knight.

Mendes has also announced the good news on social media, writing, "Stoked to get yoked. Still can't believe this is real....thank you @amazonmgmstudios @mattel and Travis Knight for believing in me as your Teela. Let's go to Eternia!!!"

Plot details have not been released to the media, but it was revealed that the screenplay is written by Chris Butler ("ParaNorman", "Kubo and the Two Strings") following initial drafts written by David Callaham, and brothers Aaron and Adam Nee.
