1 Apr – Courteney Cox is said to be in talks to star in the upcoming "Scream VII". The actress, who is the star of the original flick released in 1996, has appeared in five of its sequels, including last year's "Scream VI".
The return of Cox, who plays the role of reporter Gale Weathers, reportedly was in response to the previous revamp following the departure of Jenna Ortega and the firing of Melissa Barrera.
Director Christopher Landon also exited the project last year amid the backlash over Barrera's firing. Meanwhile, the new iteration will have Kevin Williamson stepping into the director's chair and Neve Campbell returning after declining to join "Scream VI" over salary dispute.
