16 Feb – Amid the criticisms the movie received as it premiered on Valentine's Day, Dakota Johnson recently revealed that "Madame Web" that is now screening in theatres is not the same version that she signed on prior to filming. In a recent interview with The Wrap, the actress, who plays the titular character, laughingly said that there were drastic changes to the script, which she said was very different from what has been released.
"I can't even tell you what they are," she added. While Johnson made no mention as to how it was different, many are speculating that the project might have had the case of "executives' interference" as with lots of Hollywood movies.
Johnson, known for being candid, previously shared that she was unsure if certain aspects of the film will be good at all as she has never done a movie on a blue screen. "There's fake explosions going off, and someone's going, 'Explosion!' and you act like there's an explosion. That to me was absolutely psychotic. I was like, 'I don't know if this is going to be good at all! I hope that I did an okay job!' But I trusted [director SJ Clarkson]. She works so hard, and she has not taken her eyes off this movie since we started," she said. The film has been criticised for its bad script and special effects since its release, but none about the actress' performance.
