26 Feb – Destin Daniel Cretton is set to helm the live-action adaptation of the hit animated series, "Naruto". The filmmaker, who is most known for his Marvel movie, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", will also be producing with Hisako's Jeyun Munford, as well as the team of Arad Productions for Lionsgate.
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson enthused, "This manga classic is beloved by millions of fans all around the world, and Destin has delivered a vision for the movie that we believe will excite that massive fan base as well as those who are new to it. Avi and I have had the pleasure of working together before and I know that as we collaborate with Destin and the team on Naruto, we are in extraordinary hands."
"Naruto", created by Masashi Kishimoto in 1999, revolves around a young ninja named Naruto Uzumaki who wants to be the leader of his ninja village. The manga was first published via Weekly Shonen Jump and launched into a long-running series following its popularity among manga readers.
