"Downton Abbey 3" gets 2025 release date

The wealthy aristocratic family and all their drama (and servants) will be back
28 Jun - The third "Downton Abbey" movie is set to be released in Q3 of next year.

The film, which is written by showrunner Julian Fellowes, will be opened in cinemas globally on 12 September 2025, as revealed by Focus Features.

The film will also be helmed by Simon Curtis following the 2022 "Downtown Abbey: A New Era".

Earlier, it was revealed that Paul Giamatti will reprise his role as Cora Grantham's brother, Harold Levinson while Dominic West from the second movie will reprise his role as Guy Dexter.

Other newcomers include Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan.

Meanwhile, original stars Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern and Michelle Dockery will return for the third movie alongside Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera and Douglas Reith.
