17 Sep - Primeworks Studios (PWS) and WAU Animation Studios are betting their money on the sequel to the hit animated feature, "Ejen Ali the Movie". Speaking about the upcoming film, which is still in development, WAU's CEO Usamah Zaid Yasin stated that they are hoping for a bigger success and wider release both domestically and internationally. "As a filmmaker, we want to give our everything for this film. We hope that people will watch and support it. What's important is that people are entertained by the film," he said.
With a budget that may hit RM10 million, Usamah said that they hope that the movie will receive as much love and success as the first film. "After earning RM30 million for the first movie, we hope that the second film will amass an even higher number. We also would rather not be successful only domestically, which is why we hope to go even further," he added.
As for the release date, Usamah said that they will be announcing it soon. The sequel, said Usamah, will revolve around Ali being involved in a secret mission called Projek Satria.
