27 Nov - On 1 August, The Japan Foundation (JF) unveiled an exciting new global streaming platform called JFF THEATER, offering film enthusiasts worldwide a free portal to explore the rich landscape of Japanese cinema.

Building on the remarkable success of JFF Online 2024, which captivated over 650,000 viewers across 130+ countries, this innovative platform has now become a permanent gateway to Japanese films.

JFF THEATER promises a dynamic viewing experience with its constantly evolving collection. Films will be updated every one to three months, ensuring that audiences always have fresh, compelling content at their fingertips. Movie lovers can dive into 3 critically acclaimed feature films: "Under the Open Sky", "Her Love Boils Bathwater", and "Key of Life".

The collection further expands with 5 enchanting stop-motion animations by director Yashiro Takeshi, including "Pukkulapottas and Hours in the Forest", "GON, THE LITTLE FOX", "NORMAN the SNOWMAN -On a Night of Shooting Stars-", "Moon of a Sleepless Night", and "NORMAN the SNOWMAN -The Northern Lights-".

For Malaysian film enthusiasts, there's an extra layer of engagement. The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur (JFKL) is hosting an interactive quiz that offers viewers a chance to win exclusive JFF THEATER-themed goodies.

The challenge is simple yet intriguing: From 1 November 2024 to 1 February 2025, watch any 3 of the 8 selected films and answer one question per film. Viewers may check the quiz questions first to know what to look out for in the films. This is a fun way to transform movie watching into an exciting, interactive experience that deepens cultural understanding.
