21 May - The latest instalment of the Planet of the Apes franchise, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" is still maintaining its box office dominance, earning USD 40.6 million in its second week.

The movie, which is the fourth chapter in the "Apes" reboot, has already made USD 136 million overseas and USD 237 million globally, making it the fourth highest grossing movie of the year.

It is noted that "Dune: Part Two" is still reigning this year's box office list, having made USD 710 million globally.

However, as "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" has a budget of USD 160 million, the movie has to continue to perform at the box office to finally be considered a profitable success.

Directed by Wes Ball, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" stars Owen Teague, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon in the leads as the apes Noa, Proximus Caesar and Raka among others.
