"M3GAN 2.0" begins principal photography

18 Jul - "M3GAN 2.0", the sequel to the surprise 2022 hit is now going into production.

The news was shared by producer James Wan on social media, with a creepy video of the skeleton of the lifelike doll being brought to life once again.

"Time to put M3GAN back together. Week one of principal photography begins in M3GAN 2.0. Gerard Johnstone back in the director's chair," he posted.

Original stars Violet McGraw and Allison Williams will presumably return for the sequel along with new addition Ivana Sakhno ("Asoka"). Meanwhile, Akela Cooper, who penned the original movie, returned to write the script.

The original movie stars Williams as Gemma, a gifted roboticist who invents a mechanical friend for her newly orphaned niece Cady (McGraw) to protect her, with the toy ending up becoming overprotective and killing anybody she perceives as a threat.

The upcoming sequel is scheduled for 16 May 2025 release.
