Mike Flanagan's "Exorcist" reimagining scheduled for 2026 release


"The Exorcist" will be released on 13 March 2026. How apt, it's Friday the 13th
20 Jun - Mike Flanagan's highly-anticipated "Exorcist" movie is set to be released in 2026.

Universal announced on 18 June that the reimagined film from the horror auteur will be hitting theatres on 13 March 2026, after Flanagan was announced as the new director last month.

It is noted that Blumhouse and Morgan Creek decided to give the project to Flanagan after the poor response to David Gordon Green's "The Exorcist: Believer", which was released last year.

Flanagan, who is known for movies like "Gerald's Game", "Doctor Sleep" and Netflix horror series like "The Haunting of Hill House" and "Midnight Mass", has also recently helmed the Stephen King adaptation, "The Life of Chuck", which stars Tom Hiddleston in the lead.

The movie will be released this September.
