13 Nov - It was revealed that the upcoming eighth instalment of the "Mission: Impossible" movie will not be called "Dead Reckoning Part 2" to follow its 2023 predecessor.

Instead, it will now have the title of "The Final Reckoning".

Lead actor Tom Cruise recently shared the news on Instagram with a poster of the movie, captioning it, "Every choice has led to this. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning."

He also revealed the release date as 23 May 2025.

In another post, Cruise shared a trailer of the film, which he captioned, "Our lives are the sum of our choices."

Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the movie will also star Henry Czerny, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff and Vanessa Kirby, as well as Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Katy O'Brian and Tramell Tillman.

It is noted that Cruise previously said that he would have no qualms making "Mission: Impossible" films into his 80s. However, Paramount has already expressed their intention to make the eighth movie its final entry in the franchise.
