11 Mar - To no one's surprise, "Oppenheimer" emerged the big winner at the recently held 2024 Academy Awards. The movie, which tells the story of the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer, won seven accolades out of 13 that it was nominated for, including Best Picture, Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. It also won Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing and Best Original Score.
Meanwhile, "Poor Things" also bagged numerous accolades, mostly in the technical category, including Best Actress for Emma Stone, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design. On the other hand, Billie Eilish won Best Original Song for her hit number, "What Was I Made For" for the "Barbie" movie.
