19 Feb – To no one's surprise, "Oppenheimer" became the big winner at the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), bagging seven accolades including Best Picture.

Christopher Nolan, who had never won a BAFTA before, took home Best Direction of the night, besting others like Alexander Payne, Bradley Cooper, and Jonathan Glazer, while Cillian Murphy won Best Actor for his role as the father of the atomic bomb.

Meanwhile, Yorgos Lanthimos' "Poor Things" also brought home five awards, including Best Actress for Emma Stone. The actress already won the said accolade at the recent Golden Globes.

As for "Barbie", the movie did not win any of the categories despite receiving five nominations.
