9 Sep - Just like Sir Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom is also open to the idea of returning to the Lord of the Rings franchise if an offer is made to him.

The actor, who was asked by Variety about Peter Jackson's new LOTR projects that will begin with Andy Serkis' "Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum", stated that the news of Jackson's return to the franchise was amazing to hear.

"I don't know how they'd do it. I guess with AI, you can do anything these days. But if Pete says jump, I say 'how high?'. I mean, he started my whole career," said the actor, who became famous after playing the character of Legolas.

"I really don't know what [they are planning]," Bloom said. "I did speak to Andy and he did say they were thinking about how to do things. I was like, 'How would that even work?' And he was like, 'Well, AI!' and I was like, 'Oh, Okay!' It was a pretty magical time in my life, and it's one of those things where there's not a downside to it."

"Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum" will be the first movie to kickstart a new live-action LOTR movie series to be produced by Jackson alongside his partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.

Earlier, Sir Ian McKellen said that he was told that there will be more LOTR films in the future, and that his character Gandalf will be a part of it.

"They hope that I'll be playing him. When? I don't know. What the script is? It's not written yet. So they better be quick!" the 85-year-old veteran actor quipped.
