22 Jan – Astro Shaw's "Rahsia" is now screening in Cambodia. The movie, which is a reboot of the 1987 film of the same name, was released in the country since 15 January, under the title that is translated as "Heir of the Black Magic".
Executive Producer and Vice President, Head of Astro Shaw and Malay Nusantara Business, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad said, "Alhamdulillah, another local film was successfully picked up and shown abroad. As an active producer in Malaysia, we hope that this effort can open up more opportunities for our films to be brought there, thus bridging the gap of local films at the regional level while also being able to develop the Astro Shaw brand internationally." "Rahsia has a universal storyline and the elements of Nusantara that are inserted are very close to the Asian audience, so we are confident that it will be able to meet the tastes of the audience there," she added.
It is noted that the film, which stars Nabila Huda, Fikry Ibrahim, Eman Manan, Marsha Milan, Rashidi Ishak, and Qistina Raisah among others, made RM 6.2 million at the box office when it was released locally last year. The film tells the story of a woman named Ramlah, who believes that the disappearance of her son Saiful during a holiday at her old family home has something to do with her family secret.
