19 Nov - Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evan's Christmas entry, "Red One" has made USD 34.1 million at the US box office in its three-day opening.

The three-day result was a bit better than expected, after it was predicted that the movie may have trouble getting USD 30 million amid mixed to negative reviews.

It also took in USD 14.7 million internationally, bringing a total of USD 84.1 million globally.

However, the film may need to do way better in the coming weeks due to its USD 250 million price tag. It was already marred by controversies surrounding Dwayne Johnson's alleged behaviour on set including always coming late to the set and "peeing in bottles".

Meanwhile, "Gladiator II", which has started showing internationally ahead of its 22 November US release, has made USD 87 million from 63 markets.

"Red One" will face a bigger threat next week as both "Gladiator II" and "Wicked" will begin showing in cinemas.
