27 Nov - Singaporean actor Ryan Lian has reportedly suffered at least three slashes on his face after he was attacked in an incident that occurred outside Nex in Serangoon.

The incident was reported to have occurred on 22 November, while Ryan was discussing work matters with his friends at a taxi stand. It was reported that the perpetrator slashed his face with a knife, while a friend, who is a hair salon owner, was also injured while trying to help subdue the attacker.

The perpetrator had since been arrested, with Ryan and his friend taken to a hospital.

Ryan, who has played a role in movies like "Ah Boys to Men" and "King of Hawkers", said that he is currently recuperating at home following his discharge after three days of hospitalisation.

"I saw him holding a knife, and then I realised my face was bleeding. I was so scared that my hands were shaking. I can still remember it clearly now. If I hadn't reacted quickly, I might have been... My injuries are currently stable. I can run and jump, but there are quite a few cuts on my face," he said.

Ryan added, "The doctors have asked me to be mentally prepared. My face will have scars after I recover."


Ryan also said that he did not know the attacker and did not understand the other party's motive for committing the crime. He said that everything has been left to the police to investigate.

The accused, 21-year-old Aaron Samuel Yukon, was charged with voluntarily causing hurt by means of an instrument for cutting. After being discharged from Changi General Hospital, he was remanded in custody at Woodlands Police Station. The case will be heard in court on 29 November.
