6 May – It looks like 20th Century Studios is trying to give "The Maze Runner" another go, ten years after its first movie was released. As reported on THR, the studio is currently in talks to get Jack Paglen of "Transcendence" fame to write the script for the new instalment, with original producers Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman of Gotham Group and Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill to bring it to the big screen again.
Meanwhile, director Wes Ball, who helmed the three previous movies, will also be producing the project.
The trilogy, which was released between 2014 to 2018, is based on the best-selling novels by James Dashner, and revolves around a group of teens who find themselves in a walled place called the Glade with their memories wiped out. The original movies starred Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Ami Ameen, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster among others.
