15 Feb – Travis Knight is in talks to direct the live-action adaptation of "Masters of the Universe". The director reportedly will collaborate with his "Kubo and the Two Strings" writer, Chris Butler, who will rewrite the script of the movie that has been in the works for many years now.
It is noted that the project was previously announced at Sony Pictures, before it went to Netflix. However, it was later reported that Amazon MGM will instead produce the film.
Aside from directing, Knight is also the CEO of LAIKA, a stop-motion animation company based in Oregon, which has produced stop-motion works for "Coraline", "ParaNorman" and "The Boxtrolls" among others. Knight himself directed "Kubo and the Two Strings" and made his live-action debut through "BumbleBee".
