Warner Bros. in early development of "Game of Thrones" movie

5 Nov - While George RR Martin is still scrambling to finish the sixth book in his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, Warner Bros. is planning to turn its hit adaptation, "Game of Thrones" into movies.

According to THR, the studio is quietly developing at least one film from Martin's epic fantasy series, with the project being in the very early stage of development.

No filmmaker, cast or even writer have been attached to the project for the time being.

It is noted that the idea of turning "Game of Thrones" into movies have been floating around even while the series was on air, with showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss initially wanting to conclude the series with three feature films rather than the disastrous 2019 final season.

There are already two shows that came out from the success of "Game of Thrones", with "House of the Dragon" airing its second season recently, while HBO is working on the prequel, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms", which is scheduled to premiere next year.

"A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is scheduled for 2025 premiere
