6 Aug - Michelle Yeoh is one proud Malaysian as she congratulated the country's badminton team for a job well done at the Paris Olympics 2024. It started with a post on 5 July about the success of the double pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, who staged one of the greatest returns by defeating Denmark's Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen in the bronze medal playoff match. She posted, "Congratulations. So proud and happy that our Malaysian boys won the Bronze medal."
A few hours later, Michelle again expressed her delight after Lee Zii Jia made the country proud by securing Malaysia's second bronze medal after defeating India's Lakshya Sen with 13-21, 21-16, 21-11. She posted, "Congratulations @leeziijia for winning the Bronze medal for Men's Single Badminton !! Go Team Malaysia!"
It is noted that Michelle is a member of the International Olympics Committee and the Olympic Refuge Foundation, and was among the eight members named at the IOC session in October 2023.
