"Banduan" scores triple nominations at the IFFA Awards
2 Dec - "Banduan," the Malaysian remake of the hit Tamil movie, "Kaithi," has been nominated in three categories at the International Film Festival of Australia (IFFA) Awards Night 2025.

The movie has been nominated in the categories of Best International Film, Best Actor for Aaron Aziz, as well as Best Supporting Actor for Rosyam Nor.

Speaking to the media about the nomination, director Kroll Azmy expressed, "Of course we hope that the movie will win. If we get to win all three, praise be to God."

He also admitted that the production did not plan to join the festival initially, but that the success meant that the movie is at a different level.

"We didn't make this film specifically for festivals, but if even outside the country can appreciate our work, that shows we're doing the right thing," he said.

The International Film Festival of Australia (IFFA) Awards Night 2025 will be held in Melbourne on Saturday, 6 December at The Edge, Federation Square.
