20 Nov - Renee Zellweger was all smiles as the statue of her most iconic character, Bridget Jones was unveiled in London's Leicester Square.

The actress, who made an appearance at the ceremony on 17 November, admitted that it was something that is "pretty crazy," "quite strange," and one that she has never expected.

"It's quite a surprise," the actress said.

As to what she thought of the statue, which depicted the character with her hair tied back, holding a book and a pen similar to the poster for the fourth film, "Bridget Jones Mad About the Boy," she expressed, "I mean, she's adorable... she's really cute. Looks like Bridget to me."

"[It's her] vulnerability, her humanness," she said, as she described why the character, created by author Helen Fielding in 1996, had a huge appeal to many. "We recognise ourselves in her, we recognise ourselves in her struggles.

The statue is part of the Scenes in the Square trail, which has many sculptures including Laurel and Hardy, Mary Poppins, Batman, Bugs Bunny, Paddington Bear, Mr Bean and Wonder Woman, Harry Potter, and even the Iron Throne from "Game of Thrones".
