12 Feb - Colman Domingo is neither directly denying or admitting that he will replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that he would like to build something "from the ground up".

The "Sing Sing" star recently spoke to Josh Horowitz on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, who asked him about the rumours of him replacing the troubled actor and said that he has also heard rumours of it through the grapevine.

"So [my team and I] did follow up with a sit-down meeting with the heads of Marvel. So we did do that, and we talked openly about the landscape of Marvel or even the Kang rumours," said Domingo.

He continued, "But I feel like I want a role to be mine, whatever that role is, whatever I develop. Something didn't feel right of me, like, 'Oh, would I replace someone?' No, I want to build something from the ground up that's my own."

While he is unsure whether the discussion was about taking over the role of Kang, Domingo said that he is open to work with Marvel.

"I still don't know if I was discussed, but I just know that I would want to build something up from the ground up. So, there's still talks," he added.

Majors was shunned by Marvel following allegations of abuse from his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari. He was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment and was sentenced to probation.
