17 Dec - Disney is not stopping at the live-actions, sequels and spinoffs, as it revealed that they are developing a movie about Gaston.

The studio has hired Dave Callaham ("Shang-Chi", "The Expendables 3") to pen the script of the live-action movie, which will revolve around the villainous village stud from "Beauty and the Beast". However, no plot details have been disclosed for the time being.

The character was previously voiced by Richard White in its 1991 animated version. In the 2017 live-action movie, the character was played by British actor Luke Evans.

It is noted that the live-action "Beauty and the Beast" was one of the most successful live-action film, surpassing USD 1.26 billion at the global box office.

The Gaston movie will be one of the live-action projects that Disney is keen on working on, aside from "Tangled", which is now in active development.
