"Ejen Ali The Movie 2" has now grossed RM50.7 million

10 Jun - Continuing its success, the Malaysian animated feature, "Ejen Ali The Movie 2" (EATM2) has now managed to collect RM50.7 million after 18 days of screening in cinemas nationwide.

This new record has now made it the highest grossing local animated feature, besting itself when it surpassed RM40 million last week.

Said Wau Animation CEO and EATM2 director Usamah Zaid Yasin, the success was the result of the fans' incredible support and their trust in local animation.

"Praise be to God, I am grateful that the film EATM2 received an incredible response from the audience. I am also very grateful to all the team members from Primeworks Studios and WAU Animation who have been working hard every day to promote this film since its release," he enthused.

The movie has also begun showing in Singapore since 5 June and will begin screening in Indonesia on 27 June.

It is noted that the film is slowly creeping up on Syafiq Yusof's "Blood Brothers: Bara Naga", which made RM76 million in 33 days back in April.
