"Ejen Ali the Movie 2" makes RM34.2 million in just 11 days

3 Jun - "Ejen Ali the Movie 2" continues to blast through other competition, as it breaks the RM30 million mark in less than two weeks.

The news was shared by the makers of the animated feature film, stating that the movie has now amassed RM34.2 million in 11 days including the two-day fan screenings.

Not only did it break the record made by its predecessor, it has now made "EATM2" the highest grossing local-made animated feature in the shortest amount of time. It has also surpassed the box office numbers of other movies releasing at the same time, including "Thunderbolts", "Lilo & Stitch" and "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning".

WAU Animation's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and director of EATM2, Usamah Zaid Yasin said he is grateful that the film has found a place in the hearts of audiences.

"We produced this sequel with all our heart to meet the expectations of loyal fans. The audience's reactions, tears, laughter and applause in the cinema, those are all the most precious gifts for us and greatly encourage us to continue to expand the world of Ejen Ali storytelling."
