24 Nov - Fan Bingbing has recently updated her social media account following her first Golden Horse Awards Best Actress win; by sharing a photo of her crab meal.

On 23 November, the actress posted the photo on Weibo and wrote, "After replying to more than 600 blessing messages from all my friends, I devoured three hairy crabs. At this moment, I feel a little happy and a little dazed."

Fan, who had to be represented by director Chong Keat Aun at the event due to her work obligations, shared with Malaysian media that she is grateful to the director and everyone on the "Mother Bhumi" team.

During the acceptance speech, director Chong did a video call with Fan directly on stage, and enabled Fan to express her feelings about winning.

She expressed, "This award belongs to all of us. I wish the Golden Horse Awards continued success in encouraging Chinese-language cinema and that film will live on forever."

The director also shared, "Back when I was still unsure about choosing her for 'Mother Bhumi', she followed me to my hometown to the rice fields where the story began. She slipped and fell in the mud. While we took a break, I asked her: 'You've worked so hard to fight for this role. Why?' She said, quietly but firmly: 'Because I want to start again.'"

It is noted that Fan had won a Golden Horse award back in 2007 for "The Matrimony," though for Best Supporting Actress. She was nominated Best Actress for the first time in 2016 for "Madame Bovary," but lost to Zhou Dongyu and Sandra Ma for "Soul Mate".
