FFM34: "Blood Brothers" receives the most nominations


"Blood Brothers: Bara Naga" dominates FFM34
7 Oct - Primeworks Studios and Skop Productions' film, "Blood Brothers: Bara Naga" emerged as the movie with the most nominations for the upcoming 34th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM34).

The movie, helmed by Syafiq Yusof and Abhilash Chandra, received 13 nominations that include Best Director, Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Action and Stunt. It is also nominated in Best Theme Song, Best Costume among others.

Meanwhile, Sharnaaz Ahmad made it to Best Actor category, while Syafiq Kyle, Shukri Yahaya and Syazwan Zulkifly received Best Supporting Actor nominations.

The second film to bag the most nominations is "Takluk: Lahad Datu" in 12 categories, followed by "Soloz: Game of Life" with 11 and "Kahar: Kapla High Council" with 10.

With the theme of "Creative Works, Dynamic Cinema", the 2025 edition will see the winner receiving RM5,000 in cash and a trophy while the Special Award recipient will take home RM10,000 and a trophy.

This year, the Best Film Award will receive a Creative Content Fund (DKK) incentive worth RM1 million, compared to RM500,000 for last season.

FFM34 also introduced a new category, the Best Action & Horror Award, in line with international standards to recognise the creative energy behind the scenes.

The FFM34 Awards Night will take place at the Seri Angkasa Auditorium, Angkasapuri Kota Media on 1 November at 9pm. The show will feature Afdlin Shauki and Sarimah Ibrahim as the hosts.
