7 May - Scottish actor Iain Glen has been cast to star in Anupam Kher's new movie, "Tanvi the Great."

The actor, most known for his role as the loyal knight Ser Jorah Mormont in the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones," will be playing the role of Michael Simmons, according to actor-turned-director Anupam. This casting marks Glen's exciting entry into the vibrant world of Bollywood cinema, bringing his talents from Westeros to the Bollywood film industry.

"I acted with Iain Glen (Game Of Thrones) in a #BBC three-part series ["Mrs Wilson"]. We became friends after the shoot. So when I was casting for Michael Simmons's character in #TanviTheGreat, I sent the script to Iain, and he immediately agreed to play one of the most important characters in our film," Anupam posted.

Glen's portrayal of Ser Jorah in the fantasy epic "Game of Thrones" earned him worldwide recognition.

Anupam continued, "He brings with him not only the brilliance of his acting to the character but also the gravitas, warmth, and compassion so needed in the film. Thank you, my friend, for being part of this important Indian film for the world. Jai Ho!

The movie, which will also star Anupam and Shubhangi (who will play the titular role), was announced back in March 2024. Nothing much has been revealed in terms of the storyline and plot. The cross-cultural collaboration also features Oscar-winner M.M. Keeravani handling the musical score.
