Star kids Ibrahim Ali Khan, Khushi Kapoor team up for Netflix's "Nadaaniyan"

3 Feb - After getting the official introduction by renowned filmmaker Karan Johar, Ibrahim Ali Khan finally unveils the official poster of his Netflix debut film "Nadaaniyan," where he stars opposite Khushi Kapoor.

The introduction is particularly significant as Karan has known Ibrahim's family for 40 years and shares a long-standing friendship with both his parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh.

Prior to the film announcement, Johar had shared a series of photos of the young actor on social media, recalling his deep connections with Ibrahim's parents.

Meanwhile, his co-star Khushi Kapoor teased fans about the project by sharing a photo of her being hugged by a mystery man, writing, "He made it to the grid, will make it to your hearts soon."

The film, directed by Shauna Gautam and produced by Karan Johar, features Ibrahim as Arjun, a determined middle-class boy from Noida, opposite Khushi's character Pia, a bold and spirited girl from South Delhi. Their story promises to explore the sweet messiness of first love as their contrasting worlds collide. The cast also includes veteran actors Suniel Shetty, Mahima Chaudhry, and Dia Mirza.

The film announcement came with the tagline: "Every love story has thodi si nadaani (a little silliness). Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor on the main. Watch Nadaaniyan, coming soon, only on Netflix."

However, the launch hasn't been without controversy. Given that both leads are star kids - Ibrahim being the son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, and Khushi the daughter of late Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor - the announcement has reignited debates about nepotism in Bollywood.

The skepticism is further fuelled by previous criticism of Ibrahim's sister Sara's acting abilities and Khushi's reported underwhelming performance in "The Archies."
