31 Oct - Malaysian cinema is breaking new ground with "Iruthi Strike", a film so intense that it left even the Film Censorship Board reeling.

"This film is among the most brutal films ever produced in Malaysia," actor Irfan Zaini wrote in an Instagram post announcing the film's release. "In fact, the Film Censorship Board was shocked by the level of violence and intensity, resulting in more than 20 shot cuts in this film."

Given the extreme content, Irfan issued a warning to potential viewers: "So before you go watch it, watch the trailer first and make your own decision."

The production represents a personal milestone for Irfan, who gets to share the screen with veteran performer Dato' Rosyam Nor. "I grew up watching one of Malaysia's most versatile actors @iamrosyam. Today, with the screening of the film 'Iruthi Strike' in cinemas, that dream has finally come true. A truly magical moment for me!" he enthused.

This collaboration is also historic. The film marks Rosyam Nor's first Malaysian Tamil film.

"Iruthi Strike" serves as a prequel to Irfan's previous work, "Naam Katra Isai", which is currently streaming on Netflix.

Emphasising the critical importance of opening weekend box office performance, Irfan urged fans to act quickly: "The first three days are very important, don't wait long or you'll regret it!"

With its unprecedented level of violence and star-studded casting, "Iruthi Strike" is set to become one of the most controversial Malaysian releases in recent memory.

"Iruthi Strike" is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
