24 Jul - James Gunn has recently dismissed speculations that DC Studios has started looking for the right actress to play Wonder Woman.

The filmmaker, who responded to fans' questions via Threads recently, said that the studio has yet to discuss, let alone begin casting calls for the female superhero, until a script is finished.

He also denied the notion that they are looking for a TV actress to play the role, saying, "l'd never in a million years look for a major role based on whether they did TV, films, or whatever. It's all about the casting."

"I didn't cast Milly because of her past, but because she was the best one for the role," he said, referring to Supergirl actress Milly Alcock, who became famous for HBO's "House of the Dragon".

Fans have been suggesting their own Wonder Woman on social media, with names including Adria Arjona, Elizabeth Debicki and Melissa Barrera.

The last Wonder Woman film was the 2020's "Wonder Woman 1984", though it was panned by both critics and the public.
